Description
Tielle Plus is an island dressing with a multi-layered structure consisting of a thin sheet of hydrophilic absorbent polyurethane foam applied to the centre of thin polyurethane foam membrane coated with an acrylic adhesive. Between these two layers is a fibrous fleece containing a mixture of viscose and superabsorbent acrylate fibres. When placed upon an exuding wound, the absorbent central island initially takes up liquid and expands to take up the shape of the wound bed. Excess fluid not retained by the primary wound contact layer is then drawn into the inner core of the dressing by the viscose fibres and taken up by the highly absorbent acrylate fibres to form a stable gel.
