Advantix is a topical parasiticide used in the treatment and prevention of fleas; ticks including deer ticks (the major carrier of Lyme Disease), American dog ticks, Brown dog ticks and Lone Star ticks; the control of lice and the killing and repelling of mosquitoes in dogs and puppies. One application lasts a month. Available in 3 or 6 packs. This product is called K9 Advantix in the US.
Directions
Place the applicator tip through the animal's hair to the skin level. For dogs up to 20lb, apply to skin on back between the shoulder blades. For dogs over 20lb apply in divided doses between the shoulder blades on the back between the hips and one point in between. Spot on applicators are portioned based on the pet’s weight: small dogs & puppies 1 to 10 lb (up to 4 kg) - 1 tube from dark green pack; dogs 11-20lb (4–10 kg) - 1 tube from teal pack; dogs 21-55 lb (10–25 kg) -1 tube from red pack; dogs over 55lb (25–50 kg) -1 tube from blue pack. Advantix is safe for use on pregnant and lactating bitches. DO NOT USE ON CATS.
Cautions
Do not use on puppies under 7 weeks of age. Do not apply Advantix for Dogs to cats or animals other than dogs. Do not permit cats to actively groom or have close physical contact with a recently treated dog. Do not get this product in the pet’s eyes or mouth. Use with caution in sick and debilitated animals. Safe to use on puppies from 7 weeks of age. This product causes eye irritation in humans and is harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin. Call poison control center if swallowed. If on skin, wash with plenty of soap and water. If in eyes, flush with plenty of water.
