Description
Ticks are growing in number, are migrating to new areas and have now been found in most areas of the United States. According to The Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC), cases of Lyme disease and anaplasmosis in pets more than doubled from 2009 to 2010, clear evidence that the family dog is at increased risk for infestations. To address this issue, Merial, the makers of the No. 1 veterinarian-recommended flea and tick control product have introduced CERTIFECT.
CERTIFECT with Fipronil, (S)-methoprene and Amitraz, is an advanced monthly topical solution that provides proven flea protection with added tick-killing power. CERTIFECT has been approved for puppies older than eight weeks and greater than or equal to five pounds and can be used on pregnant and lactating dogs.
CERTIFECT kills ticks in 18 hours vs. the current standard for tick-killing efficacy of between 24-48 hours. The speed of kill for ticks is of vital importance because the sooner a tick is killed, the less likely it is to transmit infectious agents.CERTIFECTstarts rapidly killing Deer ticks, which transmit the infectious bacteria known to cause Lyme disease, in just six hours. CERTIFECT is also the only topical product that detaches ticks.
CERTIFECT also kills adult fleas and destroys fleas' life cycle by killing flea eggs and larvae. Also kills chewing lice and aids in the control of chewing lice and sarcoptic mange infestations.

Directions
1. Open package and tear off 1 enclosed pipette on the dotted line.
2. Fold on the line of the package, located at the top left and tear open the protective cover, exposing the pipette.
3. Hold the pipette away from your face and cut the tip off with scissors exposing both chamber tips.
4. Part the hair and place the applicator tip through your dog's hair directly onto the skin.
5. Apply the entire contents in two spots - your dog's neck at the base of the skull and between the shoulder blades where he or she cannot lick.

Cautions
CERTIFECT is not yet available for sale or use in California, New York and New Jersey. Once the departments of environmental protection in these respective states has approved it, CERTIFECT will be made available for sale in these states.
CERTIFECT should not be used on cats, rabbits or other animals. Do not use CERTIFECT on dogs diagnosed with diabetes or heart problems. Temporary lethargy and itching may occur; contact a veterinarian if signs persist after a few days of application. Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. After application, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Do not allow children to apply product.

Ingredients
Ingredients are transported via the oil glands through the hair coat and can take up to 24 hours to complete. Even though CERTIFECT is waterproof, for maximum product effectiveness, do not bathe your dog 48 hours before or after application.
